New Mobile Games for 2021

There was a time when handheld consoles ruled as every kid either had one, or wanted one. There have been different handheld consoles over time that have enthralled kids and adults alike such as the classic Game Boy, Game Boy color, Game Boy advance, Game Boy advance SP, PSP, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo DS, and the Nintendo 3DS etc.

The mobile phone explosion brought games like Tetris, Snake and Space Invaders to our small screens but handheld consoles were still very popular as they had much better graphics than the mobile phones we used then. By 2003 however, Nokia released the Nokia N-gage and the Nokia 6600 and mobile gaming got a lot better with both phones, especially the N-gage which was perfectly shaped to play games and was often seen more as a gaming device than a phone.

By this time, mobile phone companies were getting bolder and more innovative and were releasing better phones that had better graphics, bigger screens and stronger batteries that could handle the draining requirements of the more sophisticated mobile games that could be installed on these phones. By 2007, the Nokia N95 and the first iPhone were launched and it became clear to the world how important mobile phones would become.

Playing Asphalt and Lock n Load were some of my best experiences when I used the Nokia 6600 device and soon enough, the N95 and the first iPhone took that even further and soon, all phones were pushing the envelope even further and making better phones. The rise of android phones for gaming was what finally rang the death knell for handheld gaming devices as people preferred to use a mobile device that could handle calls, texts, email and even simulate gaming devices using certain apps.

In 2021, mobile games are becoming popular as mobile users across every operating system now enjoy playing games on their mobile phones. Some popular games that people like to play are Diablo, Temple Run, Candy Crush, Pokémon Go, new online casinos 2021, the list is a long one. In this article, we’ll be taking a look at some of the new and most popular mobile phone games in 2021.

The Witcher: Monster Slayer

After the success of the TV show, the CD Projekt recently announced that a new Witcher game will be released on iOS and Android devices soon. With gameplay powered by location data like Pokémon Go, the Witcher game will transform the real world to the world of the Witcher you’ll be playing in, allowing you to battle monsters right in your neighborhood. CD Projekt explains further that you will need to prepare for enemies by brewing potions, crafting bombs and setting traps, and upgrading the armor and weapons of the character just like in the game and TV show.

Warhammer: Odyssey

After the initial announcement in August 2019, fans have been waiting eagerly for the launch of “Warhammer: Odyssey” but Virtual Realms have kept further details pretty close to the vest, releasing only a couple of snippets and a way to pre-register on the official website. Now however, the first gameplay video for the mobile game is out and while details are still few, fans are already even more excited and can’t wait for an official release date which should be sometime in 2021.

H1Z1: Battle Royale

For PUBG and Call of Duty mobile lovers, a new mobile game similar to both battle royale games is out called H1Z1. Despite being one of the first games to develop a battle royale mode, H1Z1 was soon left behind by other Battle royale PC games such as PUBG, Call of Duty and Fortnite and only found success when they made the game available on PlayStation. This success has led them to the mobile games market and similarly to PUBG, the mobile game has players jumping out of planes with up to 150 other players and competing with them to acquire as many guns, ammunition and other supplies as possible.

Asphalt 10 Underground

Since the first Asphalt game was released in 2004, Gameloft has ruled supreme over the mobile (and sometimes even) the PC car racing world. I have played Asphalt games on phones running Java Operating system, Symbian, iOS, Windows, Android and even on my PC and they are a favorite for their graphics, number of cities to play in, ability to customize vehicles and multiplayer options etc. While the Asphalt 8 Airborne game that ruled from 2013 to 2018 remains the favorite of many, Asphalt 9: Legends took it a step further by adding more features while being even more realistic and this is why many lovers of racing games are excited about the likely release of Asphalt 10 in 2021.

2021 is a very exciting year for mobile game lovers as there are several games are expected to be released next year such as: Dauntless, Pokémon unite, Apex Legends mobile, Diablo Immortal, and Project cars GO etc.
